19. gadsimta īru gotiskās literatūras īpatnības
Abstract
Īru gotiskā literatūra, viens no gotiskās literatūras žanriskajiem strāvojumiem, piedzīvoja savus ziedu laikus 19.gadsimtā, kad radās tādu plaši pazīstamu īru rakstnieku kā Čārlza Roberta Metjurina, Džozefa Šeridana le Fanu un Brema Stokera darbi. Maģistra darba mērķis ir izpētīt 19.gadsimta īru gotiskās literatūras nozīmi gotiskās literatūras žanra ietvaros un identificēt īru gotiskās literatūras fenomenu. Darbs sniedz īsu pārskatu par gotisko literatūru un tās galvenajām raksturiezīmēm, pēta galvenās tendences un žanriskos strāvojumus 19.gadsmta gotiskajā literatūrā, identificē īru gotiskajai literatūrai raksturīgās īpatnības un piedāvā triju īru gotisko romānu izvērstu analīzi. Pētījuma rezultāti ļauj secināt, ka īru gotiskajai literatūrai raksturīgās unikālās īpatnības ir novērojamas visos trijos analizētajos Čārlza Roberta Metjurina, Šeridana le Fanu un Brema Stokera romānos.

The present Master Thesis aims at clarifying the role of the nineteenth century Irish Gothic within the genre of Gothic fiction and identifying the phenomenon of Irish Gothic. The work gives the readers a brief overview of Gothic fiction and its main features, discusses the main trends and subgenres of the nineteenth century Gothic fiction, identifies peculiarities of Irish Gothic and presents a thorough analysis of three Irish Gothic novels. The obtained results of the research showed that unique peculiarities of Irish Gothic can be observed in all three analysed novels by Charles Robert Maturin, Sheridan Le Fanu and Bram Stocker.
