| dc.description.abstract | Maģistra darba ietvaros veikts salīdzinošs pētījums par avota un mērķa valodas attiecībām ar ieslodzījuma vietām saistītās terminoloģijas pārnesē no angļu valodas latviešu valodā un no latviešu valodas angļu valodā. Sniegts ieskats teorētiskos avotos par terminoloģijas attīstību, tiesību valodas tekstu veidošanu un tulkošanu. Empīriskajā pētījumā analizētas ar darba tēmu saistītās vārdnīcas, glosāriji, orģinālteksti un to tulkojumi, izmantota autores praktiskā darba pieredze, tulkojot CPT pārstāvjiem to vizīšu laikā Latvijā. Pētījuma rezultāti rāda, ka intralingvālo un ekstralingvālo faktoru ietekmē ir iespējama tikai daļēja terminoloģiska ekvivalence apskatāmās nozares rakstiskajos un mutiskajos tulkojumos.

| dc.description.abstract | The present Master Thesis is a contrastive study on the source-target relationship in transfer of terminology related to penitentiaries from English into Latvian and from Latvian into English. The Master Thesis provides an insight into theoretical sources on terminology development, and production and translation of legal texts. The empirical investigation includes analysis of the dictionaries, glossaries, authentic texts and their translations pertaining to the theme and the practical work experience of the author working as an interpreter for the CPT during their inspection visits to Latvia. The research study has revealed that only partial terminological equivalence is feasible in the translation and interpretation within the subject field due to intra-lingual and extra-lingua factors.
