Lasāmo tekstu atlase angļu valodas mācību grāmatās

Abstract

Šis pētnieciskais darbs veltīts lasāmo tekstu atlases principiem angļu valodas mācību grāmatās. Šis darbs iepazīstina ar lasīšanu kā dekodēšanas procesu, kurā lasītājam ir jāizmanto vairākas prasmes lai saprastu lasāmo tekstu. Tālāk autore sniedz ieskatu galvenajos teksta novērtēšanas kritērijos to izmantošanai angļu valodas mācīšanā. Darbā tiek sniegta atsevišķu triju angļu valodas mācību grāmatu tekstu analīze. Analīzes mērķis ir izpētīt dažādu autoru atšķirības tekstu izvēlē vienādam valodas apguves līmenim un vecuma grupai. Pētījuma rezultāti atklāja, ka angļu valodas mācību grāmatu autoriem ir atšķirības viena valodas līmeņa un vecuma grupas skolnieku, uztverē. Tādēļ var secināt, ka vienādai valodas apguves līmeņa un vecuma grupai paredzēto angļu valodas mācību grāmatu saturs var atšķirties.

The present research paper investigates the principles for selecting texts for EFL course books. The paper treats reading as a decoding process where the reader must possess multiple competences to comprehend the text. Further, the author provides an insight into the main criteria for evaluating texts to use them in EFL teaching. An analysis is presented on a selection of texts taken from three EFL course books to consider the differences in text selection by different authors for identical language proficiency level and age group. The results of the research revealed that the authors of the EFL course books perceive the learners of the same age and language proficiency level differently. Therefore, it could be concluded that the content of the EFL course books intended for the same language proficiency level and age may differ.
