Gustava Manteifeļa devums Latgales vietu vēstures pētniecībā

Abstract

Pētījums veltīts maz analizētam jautājumam, kas saistīts ar Latgales reģiona pagātnes pētniecības pirmsākumiem. Bakalaura darbā, kas balstīts historiogrāfijas analīzē, pētīta 19. gs. Latgalē dzimušā poļu muižnieka Gustava Manteifeļa pētnieciskā darbība, kas veltīta Latgales reģiona pilsētu un miestu pagātnes izpētei. Darba mērķis ir raksturot G. Manteifeļa pētījumu un publikāciju nozīmi Latgales reģiona vietu vēstures pētniecības kontekstā. Pētījuma izstrādes laikā tika apkopoti un analizēti Manteifeļa raksti par Latgales reģiona pilsētu, miestu un sīkāku apdzīvotu vietu vēsturi. Materiāla analīze, skatīta kontekstā ar nozīmīgākajiem konkrētai vietai veltītajiem vēlāko autoru pētījumiem, ir ļāvusi veidot skaidrāku priekšstatu par pētnieka unikālo lomu reģiona pagātnes pētniecības attīstības gaitā.

Paper deals with the little-studied issue about beginnings of the research of the history of Latgale region. This bachelor's paper is a research that is based on historiographic analysis about polish nobleman’s Gustaw Manteuffel legacy in the field of local history research. Thus the aim of this paper is to analyze G. Manteuffel’s contribution to the research of Latgale region in a historical context. During the research, works by Manteuffel dedicated to the history of region inhabited places were compiled and analyzed. Study of those sources together with the most important historiographical works dedicated to the history of specific places shaped a finer understanding of G.Manteuffel’s unique role in the forming and development of regional history research.
