Vikingu laikmeta rūnakmeņi Gotlandē: telpiskie un sociālie aspekti

Abstract

Vikingu laikmeta rūnakmeņu uzstādīšanas praksi Gotlandes salā ietekmēja tās novietojums plašā kontaktu tīklā, kā rezultātā Gotlande nonāca dažādu kulturālu ietekmju krustpuntkā. Šo procesu iespaidi atspoguļojas rūnakmeņu raksturojošajās iezīmēs – gan tekstā un ornamentā, gan novietojumā. Rūnakmeņi spēj raksturot ne tikai telpu sev apkārt, bet arī cilvēku sociālās attiecības, vienlaikus kalpojot par mākslas pieminekļiem, kas savā ornamentā ietver dziļu simbolismu, kurā atspoguļojas laikmeta uzskati. Šīs iezīmes padara rūnakmeņus par lieciniekiem salas iedzīvotāju reakcijai uz laikmeta norisēm, ļaujot vērtēt, kādi sociāli procesi norisinājās Gotlandes salā vikingu laikmetā , kā tie attīstījās un tika uztverti.

The Viking-age erection of rune stones on the island of Gotland was influenced by its position in a wide contact network. In result, Gotland became a middleman for differen cultural influences. The impressions of these processes are reflected on the rune stone characteristics such as text, ornament and positioning. Rune stones can describe not just the space around them, but also social relations, at the same time functioning as art monuments that contain deep symbolism, which reflects the contemporary beliefs. These features make the rune stons a witness to the islands inhabitants reaction to the contemporary changes, allowing to evaluate, what social processes happened on the island of Gotland n the Viking-age, how they developed and were percieved.
