Arhitektūras skaistums: Rodžera Skrūtona teorijas analīze

Abstract

Maģistra darba “Arhitektūras skaistums: Rodžera Skrūtona teorijas analīze” galvenais mērķis ir filozofa Rodžera Skrūtona (1944 – 2020) arhitektūras estētikas teorijas analīze un mūsdienu arhitektūras kritikas diskursa aplūkojums no Skrūtona teorijas pozīcijām. Īpaša uzmanība darbā ir pievērsta skaistuma būtības iespējamiem noteiksmes veidiem mūsdienu arhitektūrā. Balstoties uz Skrūtona idejām arhitektūras estētikas teorijā, darbā tiek aktualizēts arhitektūras skaistums kā arhitektūras būtības un estētiskās vērtības noteicošs kritērijs. Kā darba secinājums ir piedāvāta tēze – ja cilvēki tiecas pēc skaistuma, kas palīdz veidot viņiem māju un drošības sajūtu pasaulē, tad arhitektūra ir skaista, ja tā respektē un ietver cilvēku kopienas kolektīvās estētiskās vērtības un kultūras tradīcijas.

The main goal of the Master Thesis “The Beauty in Architecture: Analysis of Roger Scruton’s Theory” is the analysis of architecture and aesthetics theory of philosopher Roger Scruton (1944-2020) and a view of the contemporary architectural critique discourse from the position of Scruton’s theory. In the Thesis, special attention is paid to the possible ways of determining the essence of beauty in modern architecture. Based on Scruton’s ideas about the theory of architectural aesthetics, the Thesis raises the beauty of architecture as a determining quantity of the essence and aesthetic value of architecture. As the conclusion of the Thesis, the statement is proposed – if people strive for beauty that helps them create a home and a sense of security in the world, architecture is beautiful, as it respects and includes the collective aesthetic values and cultural traditions of the community of people.
