Prezidenta Džo Baidena inugurācijas dienas tiešsaistes ziņu multimodālā analīze

Abstract

Amerikas Savienoto Valstu prezidenta inaugurācija ir viens no visvairāk dokumentētajiem notikumiem pasaulē, kuru plaši apraksta tiešsaistes mediju avoti. Ņemot vērā notikuma nozīmi un tiešsaistes ziņu lomu informācijas nodošanā mūsdienās, šī pētījuma mērķis bija parādīt lingvistisko un vizuālo līdzekļu integratīvo lomu nozīmes veidošanā, attēlojot Amerikas Savienoto Valstu prezidenta Džo Baidena inaugurāciju kā svarīgu notikumu tiešsaistes ziņās. Lai sasniegtu izvirzīto mērķi, tika apkopots un analizēts ziņu rakstu korpuss, kas publicēts dažādās starptautiskās ziņu vietnēs, izmantojot lingvistisko un vizuālo līdzekļu modeli un multimodālo diskursa analīzi. Rezultāti atklāja, ka izmantotie vizuālie un lingvistiskie līdzekļi palīdzēja attēlot šo notikumu kā svarīgu. Darbā tiek secināts, ka atlasītie tiešsaistes ziņu raksti, fotogrāfijas un video, kas izmantoti prezidenta Džo Baidena inaugurācijas nozīmes veidošanā, mijiedarbojas un veido multimodālu veselumu.

The inauguration of the President of the USA is one of the most documented events in the world, which is described in detail by online media sources. Taking into account the importance of the event and the role of online news in communicating information nowadays, the goal of the present study was to demonstrate the integrative role of linguistic and visual semiotic modes of meaning making in representing the USA President Joe Biden’s inauguration as a newsworthy event in online news coverage. To reach the goal, a corpus of news articles published on various international news websites was compiled and analysed using a linguistic and visual resources framework and multimodal discourse analysis. The results revealed that the linguistic and visual means employed helped to make this event ‘newsworthy’. It can be concluded that the selected online news articles, photographs and videos used for the construction of meaning of Joe Biden’s presidential inauguration interact and make a multimodal whole.
