Nāves metafora Ovidija Skumjajās elēģijās

Abstract

Bakalaura darbā pētīta un analizēta Ovidija darbā Skumjās elēģijas atainotā nāves metafora, tās funkcija tekstā un poētiskais potenciāls. Bakalaura darba mērķis ir, apzinot Ovidija biogrāfiju un darbu Skumjās elēģijas, atklāt un analizēt darbā izmantoto nāves metaforu. Pirmkārt, darbā apzināts teorētiskais materiāls, kas nepieciešams nāves metaforu analīzei. Otrkārt, atlasītas un klasificētas nāves metaforu iekļaujošas tekstvietas. Treškārt, analizēta to funkcionalitāte tekstā un poētiskais pienesums dzejas darbam kopumā. Bakalaura darbā apstiprināta izvirzītā hipotēze, ka nāves metaforas lietojuma biežums un daudzveidīgais izmantojums Ovidija darbā Skumjās elēģijas liecina par autora ieceri maksimāli spilgti parādīt autora vientulību un skumjo noskaņojumu svešajā zemē un vienlaikus ar skumju metaforisku atainojumu vairot darba poētisko kvalitāti.

The present bachelor’s thesis analyses death metaphor in Ovid’s Tristia, its functionality in the text and its poetic potential. The aim of this bachelor’s thesis is, based on research about Ovid’s biography and his work Tristia, to identify and analyze death metaphor. Firstly, the theoretical material necessary for the analysis of death metaphor is studied. Secondly, the text fragments containing death metaphor are identified and classified. Thirdly, the functionality of death metaphor in the text and its poetic contribution to Ovid’s work Tristia is analyzed altogether. During the research, the hypothesis is confirmed – the frequency and the diverse use of death metaphor in Ovid’s Tristia shows poet’s intention to highlight his solitude and melancholic mood in the sovereign city of his exile, and at the same time to increase the poetic quality of the work through metaphorical depiction of grief.
