"Lingvistiskā identitāte” jeb atšķirības studentu personības izpausmēs valodu klasē un ārpus tās saskaņā ar “lielā piecinieka” personības faktoriem

Abstract

Šajā bakalaura darbā aplūkotas atšķirības valodu studentu personības iezīmēs, atrodoties valodu klasē un ārpus tās. Darba autore ar aptaujas palīdzību centās noskaidrot, vai ir iespējams runāt par “lingvistisko identitāti” un to, kādas tieši atšķirības pastāv abās šajās vidēs, kā arī to pamatojumu. Pētījuma mērķis bija novērst zināšanu trūkumu par konkrētajām personības atšķirībām valodu didaktikas kontekstā. Rezultāti parāda, ka “lingvistiskā identitāte” tiešām pastāv, jo tika konstatētas būtiskas izmaiņas studentu personībā (konkrētāk, ekstraversijas un atvērtības rādītājos) abās minētajās vidēs. Darba rezultāti varētu noderēt valodu pasniedzējiem, veidojot akadēmisko vidi, lai izvairītos no negatīvām emocijām, kas saistītas ar studiju procesu.

This bachelor’s thesis investigates the personality traits of language students in two different environments: in and out of the language course. The study aims to examine the concept of “linguistic identity”, what the concrete differences consist in, and the motivation behind them. The research objective is to close the knowledge gaps on the exact personality differences in the language didactics context. The results show that “linguistic identity” really exists: significant differences were determined in students’ personality in the two environments for extraversion and openness traits. The results of the study could be useful to language professors when developing the academic environment to avoid negative emotions related to the study process.
