Latvieši par igauņiem un igauņi par latviešiem: etniskās anekdotes

Abstract

Anekdotes nav tikai komiski stāstiņi, tajās ir iespējams saskatīt arī sabiedrības viedokli un attieksmi pret kādu situāciju, tēmu, cilvēku vai cilvēku grupu. Šī bakalaura darba mērķis ir izpētīt, kā igauņi un latvieši viens par otru joko – kādas lomas viņi piešķir viens otram un kādi ir populārākie joku skripti un tēmas abu tautu etniskajās anekdotēs. Pētījuma rezultāti liecina, ka abu tautu etniskajā humorā ir atrodami muļķības, valodas sagrozīšanas un seksa skripti. Igauņu gadījumā ir sastopamas arī etniskās anekdotes ar nacionālā pārākuma skriptu. Latvieši attēlo igauņus kā lēnīgus, neattapīgus un noslēgtus cilvēkus, bet igauņiem savās etniskajās anekdotēs patīk latviešiem piešķirt “mazā muļķa“ lomu.

Jokes are not just comical stories, they can also reveal society's opinion and attitude towards a situation, a topic, a person or a group of people. The aim of this Bachelor's Thesis is to investigate how Estonians and Latvians joke about each other – what roles they assign to each other and what are the most popular joke scripts and themes in the ethnic jokes of both nations. The results of the research show that scripts of stupidity, language distortion and sex can be found in the ethnic humour of both peoples. In the case of Estonians, ethnic jokes with a script of national superiority are also present. Latvians portray Estonians as slow and secluded people, but Estonians like to give Latvians the role of „little fool“ in their ethnic jokes.
