Orhideju pētnieks Ernests Foldāts

Abstract

Izstāde iepazīstina ar pasaulslavenā botāniķa, orhideju pētnieka, profesora un augstskolu mācībspēka Ernesta Foldāta (1925 – 2003) dzīves gaitām, iegūtajiem diplomiem un citiem apbalvojumiem, atklāto orhideja sugu fotogrāfijām un ilustrācijām, Venecuēlas Centrālajā universitātē un Latvijas Universitātes Bioloģijas fakultātē lasīto lekciju kursu sarakstu, Ernesta Foldāta sacerēto dzeju un aprakstītajiem piedzīvojumiem Venecuēlā, kā arī citiem Latvijas Universitātes Muzeja Botānikas un mikoloģijas kolekciju krājumā esošajiem materiāliem un fotogrāfijām no Ernesta Foldāta vizītes Latvijā 1990. gadā.

The exhibition presents the life history of the world-famous botanist, orchid researcher, professor and university lecturer Ernest Foldat (1925 – 2003) , the diplomas and other awards he received, photographs and illustrations of discovered orchid species, the list of lectures given at the Central University of Venezuela and the Faculty of Biology of the University of Latvia, the poetry written by Ernest Foldat and the reported adventures in Venezuela, as well as other materials and photographs from Ernest Foldat's visit to Latvia in 1990 in the collections of the Museum of Botany and Mycology of the University of Latvia.
