Bibliotēku loma amatierzinātnes attīstībā

Abstract

Mūsdienās attīstās atvērtās zinātnes kustība, un viena no tās komponentēm ir amatierzinātne, kas paredz iedzīvotāju iesaisti pētniecības procesā dažādos veidos. Pētījuma “Bibliotēku loma amatierzinātnes attīstībā” mērķis ir aplūkot Eiropas, ASV un Kanādas akadēmisko bibliotēku lomu un iesaisti amatierzinātnē un noskaidrot sabiedrības viedokli par cilvēku motivāciju iesaistīties pētniecības procesā Latvijā. Darbā izmantota pragmatisma filozofiskā pieeja, Roberta Stebina “Nopietna brīvā laika pavadīšanas teorija” un teorētisks apskats par augstskolu trešo misiju. Pētījuma laikā veiktas intervijas ar akadēmisko bibliotēku pārstāvjiem. Intervijās sniegtās atbildes un bibliotēku tīmekļvietnes analizētas, izmantojot kontentanalīzi. Ar anketēšanas palīdzību noskaidrots sabiedrības viedoklis par motivāciju iesaistīties amatierzinātnē. Rezultāti atklāj, ka akadēmiskās bibliotēkas piedāvā daudzveidīgus amatierzinātnes atbalsta pakalpojumus un sabiedrību iesaistīties pamatā motivē personīgi aspekti.

Nowadays, the open science movement is on the rise, and one of its components is citizen science, which involves people in the research process in various ways. The aim of the research "The role of libraries in the development of citizen science " is to explore the role and involvement of academic libraries in Europe, the USA and Canada in citizen science and to find out the public opinion on people's motivation to get involved in the research process in Latvia. The work uses a pragmatism philosophical approach, Robert Stebbins' Theory of Serious Leisure and a theoretical review of the third mission of universities. During the work interviews with representatives of academic libraries were conducted. Interview responses and library websites were analysed using content analysis, however public opinion on engagement in citizen science was obtained through questionnaire. The results show that academic libraries offer a wide range of services to support citizen science and that the public is mainly motivated to get involved mainly due to personal aspects.
