Abstract

Maģistra darba “Leksēma καλός starp ētiskā un estētiskā semantiku (7. - 5. gs. p.m.ē. sengrieķu lirikas teksti)” mērķis ir, pētot leksēmas καλός lietojumu sengrieķu arhaiskā un klasiskā laika lirikas tekstos, atklāt tās nozīmi ētiskā un/vai estētiskā semantiskajā spektrā. Darba teorētiskajā daļā tiek iezīmēta καλός jēdziena problemātika un ētiskā un estētiskā saikne antīkajā kultūrā, kā arī izcelti sengrieķu lirikas tekstu specifiskie aspekti. Pētījuma praktiskā daļa ir leksiski semantisks leksēmas novērtējums sengrieķu lirikā ētiskā un estētiskā semantiskajā ietvarā. Pētījumā atklāta leksēmas καλός nozīme konkrētos sengrieķu lirikas kontekstos, piedāvājot potenciālu grupējumu ētiskā, estētiskā un abējādā semantikā. Konteksts ir būtisks priekšnoteikums leksēmas lietojuma izšķiršanā, un pētāmā, tematiski daudzveidīgā korpusa ietvarā καλός saglabā variāciju estētiskā un ētiskā nozīmes spektrā cauri laikam.

The aim of the master's thesis "The Lexeme καλός in the Space of Ethical and Aesthetic Semantics (Ancient Greek Lyric of the 7th - 5th c. BC)” is to reveal the meaning of the lexeme καλός in the spectrum of ethical and/or aesthetic semantics by studying the use of the lexeme in Ancient Greek lyric texts of the Archaic and Classical period. In the theoretical part of the work, the problematics of the concept of καλός and the ethical and aesthetic connection in ancient culture are outlined, as well as the specific aspects of Ancient Greek lyric are highlighted. The practical part of the study is a lexical-semantic evaluation of the lexeme in the Ancient Greek lyric within the ethical and aesthetic semantic framework. The study reveals the meaning of the lexeme καλός in specific contexts of Ancient Greek lyric, offering a potential grouping in ethical, aesthetic and both ethical and aesthetic semantics. Context is an essential prerequisite in determining the use of a lexeme, and within the framework of the thematically diverse corpus under study, the meaning of καλός maintains variation across the aesthetic and ethical spectrum through time.
