Promocijas darba “Laikmetīgā kultūra kā antropoloģisks izaicinājums. Homo Aestheticus” pētījuma priekšmets ir filozofiskās estētikas attīstības per- spektīvas Rietumu kultūras tradīcijā. Darba mērķis ir estētiskā tematizācija tā aktuālajās vizuālajās izpausmēs un laikmetīgās kultūras antropoloģisko aspektu kritiska izpēte caur homo aestheticus prizmu estētikas un politikas mijiedar- bībā. Modernitātes kā tradīcijas paradigmas maiņas kontekstā tiek parādīta mimētisko attēla un vārda attiecību metafiziskā un antropoloģiskā nozīme un izgaismoti pasaules skatījuma veidi – apofātiskais un katafātiskais kā dažādas Rietumu filozofiskās tradīcijas attīstības perspektīvas, kurās cilvēks atklāj un rada savu tēlu. The doctoral thesis “Contemporary Culture as an Anthropological Challenge. Homo Aestheticus” explores the development of the philosophical aesthetics in the Western culture. The aim of the thesis is to thematize the aes- thetic in the actual visual manifestations and to explore the anthropological aspects of the contemporary culture through the prism of homo aestheticus within the interaction of aesthetics and politics. In the context of modernity as a paradigm shift of tradition, the metaphysical and anthropological significance of the mimetic relationship between the image and the word is presented, and two modes of worldview – apophatic and cataphatic – are illuminated as dif- ferent perspectives of the development of the Western philosophical tradition in which man reveals and creates one’s own image.
