2024. gada Parīzes vasaras olimpisko spēļu atspoguļojums Latvijas ziņu portālos: “Delfi.lv” un “Sportacentrs.com” satura salīdzinājums un tā novērtējums auditorijas vidū

Abstract

Bakalaura darba “2024. gada Parīzes vasaras olimpisko spēļu atspoguļojums Latvijas ziņu portālos: “Delfi.lv” un “Sportacentrs.com” satura salīdzinājums un tā novērtējums auditorijas vidū” galvenais mērķis ir salīdzināt 2024. gada Parīzes vasaras olimpisko spēļu atspoguļojumu ziņu portālos “Delfi.lv” un “Sportacentrs.com” un analizēt to, kā šo saturu novērtē ziņu portālu auditorija. Bakalaura darba teorētiskais pamatojums ietver lietojuma un apmierinājuma teorijas izklāstu, sporta žurnālistikas būtības skaidrojumu, raksturojot sporta žurnālistiku un sporta redakcijas Latvijā, aprakstīta sporta notikumu atspoguļošana, olimpiskās spēles, olimpisko spēļu atspoguļošana medijos un to komercializēšana. Darba metodoloģiskajā daļā tiek aprakstītas darbā izmantotās pētniecības metodes – kvantitatīvā kontentanalīze, ar kuras palīdzību veikta ziņu portālu satura vienību analīze 2024. gada Parīzes vasaras olimpisko spēļu laikā, lai gūtu datus par satura tematu daudzveidību, intervija, rodot atbildes par ziņu portālu satura izvēles pamatojumu, kā arī aptauja, ar kuras palīdzību noskaidrota auditorijas attieksme un novērtējums attiecībā uz ziņu portālu saturu olimpisko spēļu laikā. Rezultātā tika noskaidrots par kādiem tematiem visbiežāk vēstīja abi ziņu portāli, kāda daļa no šīm publikācijām iekļauj latviešu sportistu sasniegumus, kādi ieraksti guvuši lielāko auditorijas uzmanību un visbeidzot – vai abi ziņu portāli atšķirīgi atspoguļojuši 2024. gada Parīzes vasaras olimpiskās spēles.

Bachelor’s thesis on “Coverage of the 2024 Paris Summer Olympic games in Latvian news media: a content comparison and audience evaluation of "Delfi.lv" and "Sportacentrs.com"” is to compare the coverage of the 2024 Paris Summer Olympic games on the news media “Delfi.lv” and “Sportacentrs.com,” and to analyze how this content is evaluated by the portals' audiences. The theoretical framework of the work includes an overview of the Uses and Gratification Theory, an explanation of the essence of sports journalism, a characterization of sports journalism and sports editorial departments in Latvia, a description of sports event coverage, the Olympic Games, media coverage of the Olympics, and their commercialization. The methodological part of the study describes the chosen research methods – the content analysis, which will be used to analyze the content of the news portals during the 2024 Paris Summer Olympic games in order to gather data on topic diversity, interviews to obtain insights into the rationale behind content choices on the news media, and a survey to determine the audience’s attitudes and evaluations regarding the content during the Olympic Games. As a result, it was determined which topics were most frequently covered by both news media portals, what portion of these publications included the achievements of Latvian athletes, which articles received the most audience attention, and finally – whether the two news media portrayed the 2024 Paris Summer Olympic games differently.
