16. Jelgavas aizsargu pulka kultūras aktivitātes (1921-1940)

Abstract

Pētnieciskais darbs veltīts 16. Jelgavas aizsargu pulka izpētei, galvenokārt pievēršoties pulka nodaļu kultūras aktivitātēm. Darba hronoloģiskās robežas ir no 1921. gada augusta līdz 1940. gada jūnijam, ko nosaka Iekšlietu ministrijas izdotie noteikumi, ar kuriem tiek atļauta aizsargu darbība kultūras jomā un aizsargu organizācijas likvidēšana pēc Latvijas okupācijas 1940. gada vasarā. Darbā ir atspoguļota Jelgavas aizsargu darbība atsevišķu pagastu, apriņķa, un visas aizsargu organizācijas kontekstā. Caur sniegtajiem pulka kultūras aktivitāšu piemēriem pētījums ļauj izprast aizsargu organizācijas un Jelgavas pulka nozīmi lauku reģionu sabiedriskās dzīves attīstībā. Vēl jo svarīgāk, tas ļauj saprast organizācijas un attiecīgā pulka nozīmi K. Ulmaņa autoritārā režīma ideoloģijas popularizēšanā.

This paper is devoted to the studies of the 16th Jelgava aizsargi regiment, mainly focusing on the cultural activities of the regiment’s units. The chronological borders of this paper are marked by August 1921 to June 1940, in accordance with the rules issued by the Ministry of the Interior, allowing the regiment’s activities in the field of culture, till the organization’s disbandment upon the occupation of Latvia by the Soviet Union in summer of 1940. By providing examples of the regiment’s cultural activities, this research allows to understand the importance of the 16th Jelgavas aizsargi regiment and the organization itself in the development of the cultural life in the rural areas. More importantly, it provides an understanding of the organization and its regiment’s role in the ideology of the authoritarian regime of Kārlis Ulmanis.
