Starptautiskajā konference “Cilvēks un karš. Atzīmējot simtgadi kopš Neatkarības kara beigām Latvijā”: Konferences referātu tēzes

Abstract

Starptautiskajā konferencē “Cilvēks un karš. Atzīmējot simtgadi kopš Neatkarības kara beigām Latvijā” (2020. gada 17.-18. septembrī, Rīgā, Kalpaka bulvārī 4) paredzēts analizēt, kādas sekas uz sabiedrību Latvijas teritorijā un Latvijai apkārtējās teritorijās atstāja 1914.–1921. gadā notikušās karadarbības izraisītie procesi un norises. Analīzei tiks izvēlēti sabiedrības stāvokļa radītāji, kuri visuzskatāmāk ļauj konstatēt kara procesu un norišu iespaidu uz pārmaiņām tajā. Ar jēdzienu “sabiedrība” tiek saprasts gan militāro, gan civilo iedzīvotāju kopums Latvijas teritorijā, jo pirms tam pastāvējušais tradicionālais nodalījums Pirmā pasaules kara laikā kļuva aizvien vairāk izplūdis. Konferences mērķis ir, atspoguļojot dažādos veidus, kā indivīdi un dažādas sabiedrības grupas piedzīvoja karu, sasniegt pilnīgāku izpratni par kara totālo un visaptverošo raksturu. International conference “Individual and War. 100 years since the War of Independence in Latvia” aims to analyse the consequences that the processes and developments caused by warfare had on society in the territory of Latvia and neighbouring countries from 1914 to 1921, by focusing on social indicators that most clearly reveal the impact and influence of war-related processes on changes in society. The concept of “society” is here understood as both the military and civilian population in its entirety, because previously existent traditional borders between the both became increasingly blurred during the First World War. The conference aims to achieve fuller understanding about the total and all-encompassing character of the war by disclosing the variety and different ways how individuals as well as different groups of society experienced the War. This experience was far from monolithic.
