Kohēzijas lietojums Meta Heiga romānos Cilvēki un es, Kā apturēt laiku un Pusnakts bibliotēka

Abstract

Teksta vienību saistījums jeb kohēzija ir nepieciešama, lai lasītāji vai klausītāji varētu identificēt rakstītā vai runātā teksta loģiski semantiskās attieksmes. Meta Heiga romānu "Cilvēki un es", "Kā apturēt laiku" un "Pusnakts bibliotēka" popularitāte liecina, ka autora izmantotie kohēzijas līdzekļi nodrošina, ka tekstu semantiskais saturs ir jēpilns dažādam lingvistiskām un kultūras kopienām. Šajā pētījumā izmantota diskursa analīzes metode ar mērķi nodrošināt semantiskās informācijas kvalitatīvu analīzi, kas konstruēta, izmantojot tekstos lietotos leksiskos un gramatiskos līdzekļus. Analīzes rezultāti liecināja, ka tekstos ir izsekojama gramatisko kohēzijas līdzekļu, piemēram, references, saikļu un elipses, kā arī leksiskās kohēzijas līdzekļu, piemēram, meronīmijas, hiponīmijas un atkārtojuma, izmantošana. Tiek secināts, ka kohēzijas leksisko un grammatisko līdzekļu izmantošana palīdēja uztvert M. Heiga romānus kā saskaņotus tekstus.

Cohesion is necessary for readers or listeners to identify the logical-semantic relations of the written or spoken text. The popularity of Matt Haig’s novels The Humans, How to Stop Time, and The Midnight Library may suggest that the author has utilized the cohesive devices in a way that ensures that the semantic content of the texts resonates with members of diverse linguistic and cultural communities. The discourse analysis method was used with the aim of providing a qualitative analysis of the semantic information constructed using the lexicogrammatical resources identified in the texts. The results of the analysis showed that the use of grammatical cohesive devices such as reference, conjunction, and ellipsis, as well as lexical cohesive devices such as meronymy, hyponymy, and repetition is traceable in the texts. It can be concluded that Haig’s incorporation of the lexicogrammatical resources of cohesion have ensured the popular reception of these novels as coherent texts.
