Pacientu privātuma un konfidencialitātes nodrošināšana geriatrijas pacientiem stacionārā

Abstract

Bakalaura darba ietvaros “Pacientu privātuma un konfidencialitātes nodrošināšana geriatrijas pacientiem stacionārā” tika veikts pētījums, ar mērķi izpētīt pacientu privātuma un konfidencialitātes nodrošināšanu geriatriskiem pacientiem stacionārā. Tēmas aktualitāti nosaka iespēja, veicot šādus pētījumus, uzlabot pacientu tiesību ievērošanu un samazināt pret pacientiem vērstos pārkāpumus, it īpaši risku grupās, kā piemēram geriatriskiem pacientiem. Lai sasniegtu pētījuma mērķi, tika izvirzīts pētījuma jautājums: Kā tiek nodrošināts pacientu privātums un konfidencialitāte geriatriskiem pacientiem stacionārā? Pētījuma metode ir kvalitatīva pētniecības metode ar autores izstrādātu strukturētu novērošanas protokolu ārstniecības personām, kuras piedalās geriatrisku pacientu aprūpē. Tika novērotas 10 māsas un 10 māsu palīgi. Pētījuma norise no 2023. gada marta līdz 2023. gada aprīlim. Pētījuma teorijas daļā tiek apskatīta likumdošana Latvijā saistībā ar pacientu privātuma tiesībām un konfidencialitāti, kā arī aprakstīta Gladisas Hustedas (Gladys L. Husted) un Džeimsa Husteda (James H. Husted) simfonoloģiskās bioētikas teorija. Pētījuma praktiskajā daļā tika analizēti 20 novērošanas protokoli. Pēc iegūtajiem rezultātiem tika secināts, ka gan konfidencialitātes, gan arī privātuma nodrošināšanā nebija būtiskas atšķirības starp abām novērotajām profesijām. Darba stāžam nebija būtiskas ietekmes uz to, kā ārstniecības personas nodrošināja geriatrisku pacientu tiesības uz privātumu un konfidencialitāti. Kā būtiskākās un biežākās ietekmes uz pacientu tiesību ievērošanu varēja novērot ārējos faktorus un nodaļas apstākļus. Darba autore secina, ka ir nepieciešams izvērtēt un pārplānot izkārtojumus un aprīkojumu nodaļās tā, lai tas palielinātu geriatrisku pacientu privātuma un konfidencialitātes nodrošināšanas iespējas. Darbs sastāv no anotācijas, satura, ievada, 6 nodaļām, secinājumiem, priekšlikumiem, 41 lapaspusēm, 7 tabulām, 3 pielikumiem. Tika izmantoti 34 literatūras avoti.

In Bachelor’s paper “Ensuring patient privacy and confidentiality for inpatient geriatric patients”, a research was done with the aim of investigating the provision of patient privacy and confidentiality for geriatric patients in an inpatient facility. The actuality of the topic is determined by the possibility to improve the observance of patients’ rights and to reduce violations against patients, especially in risk groups such as geriatric patients. In order to achieve the aim of the study, the research question was raised: How is patient privacy and confidentiality ensured for geriatric patients in an inpatient facility? The research method is a qualitative research method with a structured observation protocol developed by the author. It was made for medical personnel participating in the care of geriatric patients. 10 nurses and 10 nursing assistants were observed from March 2023 to April 2023. In the theory part of the research the author examines legislation in Latvia related to patients’ privacy rights and confidentiality, as well as describes the symphonological bioethical theory of Gladys L. Husted and James H. Husted. In the practical part of the study 20 observation protocols were analyzed. According to the obtained results, it was concluded that there was no significant difference between the two observed professions in terms of both – confidentiality and privacy. Work experience did not have a significant effect on how health care providers ensured geriatric patients’ rights to privacy and confidentiality. External factors and ward conditions could be observed as the most significant and frequent influences on the observance of patients’ rights. The author concludes that it is necessary to evaluate and re-plan the equipment in the departments is such a way, that it increases the possibilities of ensuring the privacy and confidentiality. The work consists of the annotation, content, introduction, 6 chapters, conclusion, suggestions, 41 pages, 7 tables, 3 appendices. 34 literature sources were used for this paper.
