“Par Latviju kritušie studenti” piemiņas plāksne

Abstract

Raksts veltīts Latvijas valsts un Latvijas Universitātes 105 gadu jubilejai, lai atcerētos un pieminētu Latvijas studentus, kuri upurēja savu dzīvību par neatkarīgo Latvijas valsti Latvijas Neatkarības karā (1918-1920). Izpētes centrā ir marmora piemiņas plāksne, kur iegravēti 18 kritušie studenti. Analizējot piemiņas plāksnes simbolisko nozīmi, tika izveidots arī īss, kodolīgs apraksts par piemiņas plāksnē sastopamo studentu likteņiem Latvijas vēsturē svarīgam pagrieziena punktam - Latvijas tauta ieguva tiesības un panāca savas neatkarīgās valsts izcīnīšanu.

The article is dedicated to the 105th anniversary of the Latvian state and the University of Latvia, to remember and commemorate Latvian students who sacrificed their lives for the independent Latvian state during the Latvian War of Independence (1918-1920). The marble memorial plaque, engraved with the names of 18 fallen students, is at the center of the study. The analysis of the symbolic meaning of the memorial plaque also led to a short, concise description of the fate of the students on the plaque at an important turning point in Latvian history - the Latvian people won the right and achieved the victory of their independent state.
