Atmiņas par Otrā pasaules kara bēgļu gaitām trimdas latviešu dzīvesstāstos

Abstract

Promocijas darbā “Atmiņas par Otrā pasaules kara bēgļu gaitām trimdas latviešu dzīvesstāstos” pētīts Otrā pasaules kara bēgļu gaitu (1944–1945) atspo-guļojums Nacionālās mutvārdu vēstures arhīva trimdas latviešu dzīvesstāstos. Darba fokuss ir vērsts gan uz dažādiem bēgšanas procesa aspektiem, piemēram, bēgšanas motivāciju, korelāciju starp indivīdu pieredzi pirmās padomju okupāci-jas laikā un lēmumu pieņemšanu 1944./1945. gadā, nacistiskās Vācijas propagan-das ietekmi, materiālo vērtību un uz vērtībām orientētas rīcības nozīmi bēgšanas procesā, un citiem, gan visiem bēgļu kustības posmiem: māju atstāšanu, bēgļu gaitām Latvijas teritorijā, izbraukšanu no Latvijas, bēgļu gaitām Vācijas reiha teritorijā un bēgļu dzīvi Zviedrijā. Padziļināta minēto jautājumu izpēte, kuras laikā analizēta bēgļu kustības izcelsme, veidi un individuālā dimensija, kā arī izcelta mutvārdu liecību vērtība, uzskatāma par novitāti ne tikai Latvijas his-toriogrāfijas mazpētītā aspektā, bet arī plašākos piespiedu migrācijas procesos. The doctoral thesis “Memories of Refugee Journey during World War II in Life-stories of Exile Latvians” examines the fleeing prompted by the Second World War (1944–1945) as reflected in the life stories of exiled Latvians of the National Oral History Archive. The focus of the study is on various aspects of the fleeing process, such as the motivation of the fleeing, the correlation between the experiences of individuals during the first Soviet occupation and taking the decision in 1944/1945, the influence of Nazi German propaganda, the importance of material values and value-oriented behaviour in the process of fleeing, as well as the stages of the refugee movement: leaving home, being refugees within the territory of Latvia, departure from Latvia, being refugees in the territory of the German Reich and refugee life in Sweden. An in-depth study of the aforementioned questions, during which the origin, types and individual dimension of the refugee movement are analysed, simultaneously highlighting the value of oral testimonies, can be considered a novelty not only in a little-studied aspect of Latvian historiography, but also in exploration of wider forced migration processes.Keywords: World War II, refugees, forced migration, memories, oral history
